FAQ

Program & Curriculum

What skill levels do your programs cater to?

Our programs are designed for players of all skill levels, from those just starting to develop fundamental skills to experienced players looking to refine their technique and gain a competitive edge. We believe every player can benefit from our scientifically designed and technology-driven approach.

How do you adapt the training for players with different levels of experience and ability?

Our curriculum is structured with progressive levels and phases within each skill area (skating, stickhandling, shooting, passing). Our coaches assess each player's current abilities and guide them through the appropriate drills and progressions. The video-guided C30 program allows players to select modules aligned with their level, while the coach-led C75 program provides personalized instruction and modifications as needed.

For beginners, what foundational skills will the program focus on?

Beginners in our program will focus on establishing strong fundamentals in skating (balance, stride), basic puck control, proper shooting technique, and fundamental passing skills. The curriculum starts with introductory levels designed to build a solid base.

For more advanced players, how will the program help them further refine their skills and gain a competitive edge?

Advanced players will work on refining their technique for maximum efficiency and power, developing advanced puck control maneuvers, increasing shot velocity and accuracy in game-like scenarios, and enhancing their playmaking abilities with precise and strategic passing. The technology provides data-driven insights to identify areas for improvement at an elite level.

Can you explain more about the technology used (RapidShot, skatemill) and how it benefits players at any skill level?

For all levels, RapidShot provides immediate feedback on shot speed and accuracy. Beginners can focus on developing consistent contact and understanding the relationship between technique and results. Advanced players can use the data to fine-tune their shot for maximum velocity and pinpoint accuracy under pressure. The skatemill allows players of all levels to focus on their skating technique without the distractions of the ice. Beginners can develop balance and proper stride mechanics at a controlled pace. Advanced players can work on specific aspects like stride efficiency, power transfer, and agility with real-time video feedback to make precise adjustments.

How is progress tracked and measured for players at different stages of development?

Will we receive reports on my child's performance? Progress is tracked through different methods depending on the program and skill level. In the C30, players progress through sequential video modules. In the C75, coaches provide verbal feedback and email detailed performance notes after each session. The RapidShot system tracks shot speed and accuracy, providing quantifiable data for all users. We aim to provide regular feedback to players and parents on their development.

What is the coach-to-player ratio in the C75 Triple Threat program, and how does it ensure individualized attention for players with varying skill?

The C75 program has a maximum of two participants per 25-minute station, ensuring a low coach-to-player ratio. This allows our coaches to observe each player closely, provide tailored feedback based on their individual skill level and needs, and modify drills as necessary to ensure everyone is challenged and progressing.

For the C30 program, how do you guide players of all levels in selecting the appropriate training modules? Is there an assessment process?

Upon booking a C30 lane, players are provided with an overview of the different skill levels within each curriculum (Shooting, Passing, Stickhandling). Player will start at Level 1, Phase 1, to build a strong foundation. Players can progress at their own pace. While there isn't a formal assessment before the first session, our descriptions of each level help guide selection, and players can adjust as they progress and understand their current abilities.

Are the programs tailored to specific positions (forward, defense, goalie), and if so, how are these adaptations made for different skill levels?

While our core focus is on developing fundamental Super Skills essential for all positions, our coaches in the C75 program can incorporate position-specific nuances into the drills and feedback. For example, skating drills for defensemen might emphasize backward skating and lateral movement, while shooting drills for forwards might focus on quick release in scoring areas. These adjustments are made based on the individual player's position and skill level. We may offer specialized goalie training in the future, but currently, the focus is on the core skills applicable to all skaters.

What safety measures are in place during the training sessions for players of all abilities?

Safety is our top priority. All participants are required to wear appropriate hockey equipment (helmet, gloves, skates, shin pads.). Our coaches supervise all drills to ensure proper technique and minimize the risk of injury. The skatemill has safety harnesses and emergency stop mechanisms. We maintain a clean and safe training environment.
